EGO Spring Performance 2009. Taken by Taylor Won.
Student-founded and run by concurrent UC Berkeley students, EGO has a few requirements for membership. You do not need to have had any musical or drumming experience to join! Currently, the requirements for new members that we do have are:
- Attending three of the general meetings
- Performing at one major event
- Three more of either #1 or #2, or one of both
- A final interview process, which must be requested to the current vice president a week in advance.
So far, we have just recently formed our eighth (starting from zero) “gi,” which means similar to class or generation. Perhaps we shall see you in our future “gi”s to come!
We also have our own Facebook group, which you can use as a resource, or simply email us at ego.staff[at]lists.berkeley.edu if you’re not already a part of our mailing list. It’s an excellent way to be updated with the latest news, unless, of course, you’d rather simply check here regularly instead.

After graduating, all active members are immediately the privilege of being Ecstasy members, a network which still remains strong in both America and Korea to this day.
