As indicated in our Facebook event page, this amazing performance will take place Saturday, April 24th. Doors will open at 1:30PM, so come by then to make sure to get good spots!
We have a fantastic lineup this year from Talchum, Waebuk, Buchaechum to some amazing Janggu/Buk solo pieces as well as our classic Samulnori and Pangut!
Invite all your friends to this event! We worked so hard all year to present to you all an amazing afternoon — you won’t be disappointed!

No Friday Practice tomorrow! Next Friday practice will be on April 2nd. Lastly, don’t forget that our Election meeting will take place on April 1st @ 7PM, Dwinelle 109. We highly encourage all our current members to come out to vote for EGO’s future next year! We will also be handing out t-shirts ($15) and hoodies ($30 members, $35 nonmembers) then, so make sure to bring your moolah as well!
Also, if you haven’t noticed already, but the 2009-2010 Member Page has been constantly updated with our new members and new performances! Congrats to all the new members today — welcome to the EGO family!

September already?!
Just a recap, but thanks to all our members who performed at Calapalooza and Last Sunday’s Festival! If you missed seeing us, you should definitely come by our Orientation tomorrow for a sneak performance.
Speaking of which, our Incoming Students Orientation is tomorrow! It will begin at 7:00PM at North Gate 105. We apologize for the location, but you shouldn’t regret anything when you get there! We should have members posted around the campus, so keep a look out for some colorful minboks around campus. :]
A couple more reminders! Next week will host the first decal class on September 9th as well as our first General Meeting on September 10th! Please check the Calendar for specific times and dates. We’ve been getting a lot of questions regarded the decal and the GM, such as:
- Do we need to enroll in the decal to be in EGO?
No, of course not! The decal is there for those who simply want a taste of what P’ungmul is or for those who want to earn credit/units for learning something so awesome. ;]
- What if we can’t make the decal, but want to be in EGO?
Then you should come to our General Meetings! Our GMs will be a great place for you to come check us out and see what we’re all about. Our first general meeting will be on September 10th. Be sure to check back here for the location!
- Does EGO hold auditions?
Nope! We do not hold any auditions. We welcome anyone to become a member, who simply possess the desire to come out and learn, share, enjoy what we love to do most: play P’ungmul!

And August has begun!
[ Web Updates ]
As you can see, there’s been a couple major new features added to the website. With the exception of more pictures in the gallery and a finalized list of videos, this website is practically all ready for the new semester.
- Calendar: Check out our Schedule page for an constantly updated Calendar through Google Calendar. We already have many important dates listed on the calendar (ie. Orientation, 1st GM, 1st Decal class, Fall MT, etc.), so make sure to check that out when you can.
- Gallery: Our gallery is now up! Even though there is only one album up for the moment (from our Summer MT), we are still compiling pictures to add to our gallery. If you have any pictures you’d like to contribute, login to your Facebook account to add to the gallery!
- Accounts: You can log in to this site using your Facebook account! For now, your account only allow you to comment on posts and to upload pictures on our gallery. We’re still in the process of finding more usage for the accounts, so hang in there.
- RSS Feed: You can receive our updates through specific programs or email through our RSS Feed. The link is also located at the bottom of the page: http://www.berkeleyego.com/?feed=rss2
[ Decal Information ]
Intro to P’ungmul I is now up on the decal website (decal.org)! Check it out for more information about the decal class we offer each semester. First class will be held on September 9th. This meeting will be mandatory for those who wish to enroll in the class!

And so July begins!
Summer Practices have now been finalized. Starting July 9th, there will be practice on every Thursdays and Saturdays from 8PM to 10PM. Make sure to come on the first two days of practice, so we can get an idea of who will be able to attend these practices. If you want to come out but you cannot on make the first two days, email us @ our general email and let us know.
Don’t forget to rsvp for Summer MT! The deadline is by this Saturday, July 4th. Again, refer to the facebook invite for more details, and if you haven’t gotten an invite and would like to receive one, email Maria.

- 2009 Summer Jeon-Su in Korea (2009 필봉농악 하계전수):
EGO will be participating in the Summer Jeon-su held in Korea this summer! At the Jeon-Su, you will be taught, sharing, and playing Pilbong Nong-ak with other college players from all over Korea. It’s a great way to cultivate and develop your skills and knowledge as a player, so if you are interested in taking part, please contact Gyeong-sun for more information through email or facebook.
- Summer Practices:
A definite schedule of our summer practices will be posted in the Schedule section by the end of this week. Check back later this week!
- Summer MT:
Evite still isn’t cooperating with the invites, so a Facebook event page has been made for the MT. Please rsvp by July 4th if you plan on camping with us!
